Notice is hereby given of a public participation process in terms of the amended NEMA Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations 2010:
The owner of Erf 453 Noordhoek proposes to construct a parking area comprising 79 parking bays on a portion of the subject property to address the peak period parking shortage at the Noordhoek Farm Village and environs. The proposed development includes an activity listed in terms of the amended NEMA EIA Regulations (2010), and a Basic Assessment is therefore being undertaken. The relevant activity listed in GN No. R. 544 is as follows:
24. The transformation of land bigger than 1000m² in size to residential, retail, commercial, industrial or institution use, where at the time of coming into effect of this schedule or thereafter such land was zoned open space, conservation or had an equivalent zoning.
Please find attached the Draft Basic Assessment Report which is currently available for review by Interested and Affected Parties for a period of 40 calendar days ending on 2 October 2013. Should you require any of the Appendices listed on page 57 of the attached report then please request these from the undersigned.
