The Noordhoek Environmental Action Group is organising a fun BEACH CLEANUP session on Saturday, 18th April, from 9am to 11am. We’d like to see you there!
As a bit of associated fun, we’re inviting artists and the artistically inclined (of all ages) to use the flotsam and jetsam picked up on the beach to create a JUNK ART EXHIBITION. So, if you’re the new Picasso, Dali, or Frida Kahlo, here’s your chance! We’ll be taking lots of photos!
The primary focus, however, is to pick up as much rubbish as possible, all along the full stretch of the beach. Bring bags and lots of enthusiasm! SanParks will manage bag pickups at the far end of the beach, as well as the car park.
Noordhoek Tourism is also calling for dog owners to come along to help their volunteers pick up poo along the boardwalk and on the dog beach access path. (No, this won’t be part of the Junk Art Exhibition!)
If you are interested in creating Junk Art, please contact us. If you want to clean the beach (and all Hoekers should want to clean our beautiful beach), please meet at the car park at 8:45 on the designated Saturday.
NEAG “Noordhoeked” TShirts and caps will be on sale at the car park.
