Homeowners:
Request that the builder / contractor supply full details (ID‘s) of employees on site
Ensure the contact details of the site foreman are available for the SAPS, neighbourhood security and relevant residents association.
Please provide contact details of site foreman/manager to direct neighbours who are liable to be inconvenienced by the construction activity.
Ensure all valuables are locked away and unused rooms are locked secured.
If possible have someone at your home when renovations are being done.
Inform the contractor that they are responsible for any owned or hired equipment left on your site during and after hours.
Encourage contractors to have bank accounts for employees and not pay workers cash on site.
Contractors:
Please supply full details (ID’S) of employees and subcontractors on site to the owner.
Please have available the contact details of the site manager/foreman for the SAPS, neighbourhood security or residents association if required.
Refrain from using casual workers off the street.
Ensure approved industry hours of work are complied with and workers are picked up and provided transport promptly
Ensure all equipment and supplies are secured and locked away particularly when not on site.
Please pay workers via bank accounts and refrain from having cash on site.
